Asian Style Meatloaf
We’re not sure if you all noticed, but we think that meatloaf is an underrated meal. It probably comes from all the overcooked meatloaves that were filled with oats and wrapped in bacon. While they had the potential to be tasty, they could also be loaded with calories. Nowadays, you can easily find ground turkey. We like to view meatloaf as a blank canvas. You can take a basic recipe, add whatever flavor profile sounds good, switch around some of the veggies, and you got a tasty meatloaf. For this Asian Style Meatloaf, we’ve drawn on some of our favorite Asian flavors to create a tasty loaf of meat. One of the best parts of this recipe? If you can manage to save some of the meatloaf, it makes an amazing meatloaf sandwich. Keep your eyes peeled in the future for more tasty variations on meatloaf. Asian Style Meatloaf
Ingredients:
1 red pepper
2 celery stalks
2 teaspoons grated ginger
4-6 green onions
1 1/4 lb ground turkey
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon sriracha
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 egg
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup Ketchup
1/4 cup Sweet Chili Sauce
1. Chop the red peppers, celery, and onions.
2. Add the grated ginger, minced garlic, peppers, celery, and onions to a medium sized bowl.
3. Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, sriracha, and spices.
4. Add the turkey, egg, and bread crumbs. Mix well!
5. Spray a loaf pan with nonstick spray. Add the mixture to the loaf pan.
6. Bake at 375 for 4o minutes.
7. Mix the ketchup and sweet chili sauce in a bowl. (add a squeeze of sriracha if you want.)
8. Remove the meatloaf from the pan and add the glaze. Bake for 15 more minutes, or until the meatloaf is done.
