Philly Cheese Steak Jalapeno Poppers

I like jalapeno poppers a lot.  There’s something about the spicy goodness combined with the cool cream cheese that is just really great.  My major problem with most jalapeno poppers is they batter and fry them.  While the crunch can be nice, I don’t feel like it brings any flavor to the party.  These little guys are big on flavors and skip the hassle of frying.  Also, they taste like Philly cheese steaks.  Seriously, you guys, little spicy Philly cheese steaks.  Make these for your next tailgate party and your friends will probably think you’re the mutt’s nuts.

Philly Cheese Steak Jalapeno Poppers

Ingredients:

8 Jalapeno Peppers

3/4 pound deli roast beef

8 oz cream cheese

1/2 onion, diced

3/4 teaspoon Montreal Steak Seasoning

4 slices American Cheese

1.  Prepare the peppers by slicing them in half, and removing the seeds and membranes.

2.  Dice the roast beef and add to a bowl.  Mix the roast beef, cream cheese, onion, and Montreal Steak Seasoning together.

3.  Stuff the peppers with the cream cheese mixture.  Place the stuffed peppers on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.

4.  Bake in a 375 degree oven for 30 minutes, or until the peppers are cooked.

5. Cut the American Cheese into 16 slices.

6.  Remove the peppers from the oven and place one slice of American Cheese on top of each pepper.

7.  Put the peppers back into the oven and bake for 5 minutes.

8.  Remove from the oven and enjoy!
