Basil Lemonade Champagne

Sometimes, experimenting with flavors is a lot of fun.  It can help break you out of a boring “food routine.”  This cocktail is quick, easy, refreshing, delicious, and it will expand your flavor palate.  The sweet and tart of the lemonade works so well with the slightly savory licorice of the basil.  The effervesent champagne ties it all together.  You can even use up the last of your summer basil from the garden!  You’ve got to give this one a try!

Basil Lemonade Champagne

  • 10 Basil Leaves
  • 1/2 cup lemonade
  • 1/2 cup champagne
  • (Or equal parts)
  • Ice to fill the glass
  1. Chiffonade the basil and add it to a cocktail glass.
  2. Use a muddler to crush the basil leaves in the glass. This will release the oils and flavors of the basil.
  3. Add ice to your liking.
  4. Add the lemonade and champagne.
  5. Stir and enjoy!
